Apni Chat Apna Ghar Scheme
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced a housing scheme for low-income families called ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’. Through this scheme, low-income families will be able to get their house in easy installments. The aim of the Punjab government to start this scheme is to provide 100,000 houses for such poor and deserving families living in small and big cities who cannot manage their living due to low monthly income. With this initiative of the Punjab government, we will see immense changes in the housing sector.
In this regard, a special meeting was held yesterday under the chairmanship of Maryam Nawaz. In which Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif also gave in-principle approval for the ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ project on 519 kanals of land in five major cities, including Lahore. Further, in this meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered measures to prepare the best house at the minimum cost.

Eligibility Criteria
- Families whose monthly income is less than 60 thousand rupees.
- Families who do not have their own accommodation to live in.
- Families living below the poverty line.
- Families living in rented accommodation.
Cities Included in the Scheme
The scheme will start in the following 6 cities:
- Lahore
- Rawalpindi
- Faisalabad
- Sialkot
- Multan
- Sargodha
Price of each Apartment
According to the initial proposals of the housing department, the price of each apartment will be Rs 15 lakh, for which a 60% subsidy will be provided by the Punjab government. Poor and deserving families with low incomes will be able to buy an apartment by paying a 40% down payment and paying the rest in installments.
