The Benazir Income Support Program has launched the BISP Savings Scheme for existing beneficiaries and people engaged in informal employment. The objective of launching this scheme is to provide financial support to people engaged in informal employment, such as daily wage workers, etc., in a new way.

This scheme is specially launched for those with a PMT score between 0 and 40. This scheme will be launched in a phased manner throughout the country. In the first phase, only the beneficiaries belonging to the selected districts-Islamabad, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Neelam, Lucky, Marwat, Qila, Saifullah, Quetta, Multan, Sukkur, Lahore, and Astor-will be able to complete the registration.

Registration under the BISP Savings Scheme has been formally started by the Benazir Income Support Program. The Benazir Income Support Program has also introduced a web page where you can complete your registration after checking your eligibility. Remember, to complete the registration, you have to fulfill all the conditions laid down by the Benazir Income Support Program.

Important Instructions for the Benazir Savings Scheme 2023

• To avail of this scheme, you have to first open a savings account at the bank.
• The beneficiaries of this scheme have to deposit Rs 500 to Rs 1000 in their accounts every month.
• In return, Benazir Income Support Program registered users will get 40% additional compensation for their savings.
• Remember that the duration of this scheme will be two years, after which you will be able to withdraw all your deposited amount.
• Remember that once you become a part of the scheme, you cannot withdraw your deposit before two years.
• Whereas you cannot withdraw your deposited money before the scheme’s end, you can withdraw the BISP share and the bank’s profit.
• If you withdraw from this scheme once, you cannot join it again before the commencement of the scheme.

BISP Bachat Scheme Update

As per the record, so far, 5,000,372 applications have been received under the savings scheme, whose complete details are as follows:

• 3416 from Punjab province
• Sindh Province 1135
• 397 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
• 176 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir
• 117 from Balochistan
• 80 from Gilgit, Balochistan
• 52 from Islamabad

In the initial phase, one and a half lakh customers will be included in the savings scheme on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, families benefiting from BISP and those with a poverty score of 40 who have no regular employment will be able to benefit from this scheme. Both men and women can apply for child support. While one person from a family is eligible to apply.

Dr. Amjad Saqib, chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program, said in an event, “The Savings Scheme is the biggest step towards financial stability and self-reliance for households included in the Benazir Income Support Program.
