Eligibility Criteria
The farmer card introduced by the Punjab government is not available to all farmers; only those farmers who meet the eligibility criteria set by the Punjab government will be able to get this card. So if you also want to get this card, then you have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Land Ownership: To get a card, a farmer must own a minimum of one acre and a maximum of 12.5 acres of agricultural land.
- Permanent resident of Punjab: A farmer must be a permanent resident of Punjab to get the card.
- Land Records: A farmer’s land records should be available with the Punjab Land Record Authority.
- Not Bank Defaulter: If the farmer has taken a loan from any other bank or is a defaulter, then he is ineligible for the Punjab Kisan Card.
- Do not engage in illegal activities: To complete the registration for the card, the farmer should not be involved in any illegal activities.
- Identity Card: The farmer should have a National Identity Card (CNIC) issued by NADRA.
- Mobile number: To complete the registration, the farmer must have a SIM card registered in his own name.

Procedure to Complete Registration for Kisan Card
To complete the registration process, farmers have to write PKC>Space>CNIC and send a message to 8070. After which the farmers will receive an immediate response that the action on your application is in progress. After this action, the farmer will get a message again from 8070 that you are eligible for the Kisan Card. Get a Kisan Card from the nearest Punjab Bank.
After that, the farmer has to go to the nearest branch of the Bank of Punjab with the necessary documents for registration. After going to the bank, the representative present there will apply for the Punjab Kisan Card after opening the Kisan Dost account of the farmer. Within five days of applying, the Kisan card will arrive at the bank, and the farmer will be able to get it easily.
Important Information about Kisan Card
If the farmer wants an interest-free loan from the Punjab government, he will apply for the loan at the Bank of Punjab. Within 3 days, the loan amount will be transferred to the farmer’s Punjab Kisan Card.
Remember, the farmer will not be able to withdraw this money but will be able to buy fertilizer spray and seeds from the selected fertilizer seeds and spray dealers of the Punjab government and Bank of Punjab.
For example, if a farmer wants a bag of DAP fertilizer, he will go to the selected dealer with the Punjab Kisan Card. The dealer will scan the farmer’s Punjab Kisan Card on the Bank of Punjab’s POS machine and perform biometric verification. After which, a confirmation SMS will be received on the registered mobile number of the farmer. After entering it on the POS machine of the Bank of Punjab, the dealer will give a sack of DAP fertilizer to the farmer. And the bank will deduct the money from the farmer’s Punjab Kisan card according to the market rate and deposit it in the dealer’s account.
